The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the Civil Services Examination annually for recruitment to various central services including Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and other Group A and Group B services. This is considered one of the toughest competitive examinations in India. The examination consists of three stages: Preliminary Examination (Objective Type), Main Examination (Written), and Personality Test (Interview). Successful candidates are allocated to various services based on their rank and preferences.
